This, of course, is the great reward, the great hope, the greatest of gifts. It marks the third phase of existence for Christians. In the first phase, one is not able to refrain from sin. In the second, after accepting Christ and being born again, one is able to refrain from sin (but usually doesn't). Then comes the death of the body, the complete death of our old nature. In the heavenly realm, with glorified bodies, we will not be able to sin, and will keep fellowship with God forever.
It is difficult to express the longing I feel for that time. There is very much a sense of being made for that place, not this. It seems odd, but I consider that subjective, internal feeling to be one of the objective pieces of evidence for the truth of Christianity. Many people share the feeling, and science is really at a loss to explain its existence in terms of mere molecular mechanics.
And so, we come to endings. We have reached the end (purpose) of my belief, and the end of this discussion of that belief. I apologize for the places where I've said too much, and the places I've said too little. Whether you've agreed with me or not, I certainly appreciate the time taken to read all this. Thank you for letting me express myself.
