I just wanted to say a few words up front to set the stage for what (I hope) you are about to read.
First and foremost, this is not intended as a scholarly document. I often make bald assertions, rarely cite sources, and don't always provide opposing views. You'll have to take my word for it that I've spent many hours reading and researching and many more hours interpreting, synthesizing, and assimilating that information. I may delve into the full process in some future document, but I'm more interested in letting people know where I am right now than where I've been. And so, you will see that the following pages are primarily about what I believe and only secondarily about why I believe it, though I often find it necessary to document the journey to explain the destination. I've written this with the recognition that I'm not just standing by the side of the intellectual road. I'm still reading, still researching, and still refining.
